The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) has firmly debunked rumors of division within its ranks, calling such claims baseless and orchestrated by individuals with ulterior motives.

In a compelling statement released today, Rev. Ibrahim Kassim, the church’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), addressed the recent controversy surrounding the ECWA Wuse II congregation, assuring members and the public that the church remains united and steadfast in its mission.

The crisis at ECWA Wuse II stemmed from a petition lodged against the Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Nash Azaki, by a group of congregants from Abuja. Rev. Kassim clarified that the church leadership acted promptly upon receiving the petition, establishing a committee to investigate the allegations in line with ECWA’s established protocols.

“The petitioners were advised to adhere to the church’s standing rules by channeling their grievances through the Local Church Council (LCC) and District Church Council (DCC) before escalating to the General Church Council (GCC),” Rev. Kassim explained.

This structured approach underscores ECWA’s commitment to due process and fairness.

Addressing concerns about unrest, Rev. Kassim emphasized that “the church is under control, and ECWA Wuse II is at peace.” To further ensure harmony, a high-powered reconciliation delegation—comprising esteemed professors, retired generals, and other prominent figures—intervened, counseling the GCC to handle the matter with wisdom to preserve the church’s unity.

The leadership has called on members and the public to dismiss what it describes as a “sponsored narrative” aimed at sowing discord. Instead, ECWA urges its community to rally behind efforts to promote transparency, accountability, and love—values central to the church’s identity.

Quoting Ephesians 4:3, Rev. Kassim reminded members to “make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace,” encouraging steadfast support for the church’s mission.

In a proactive move to restore stability, the ECWA leadership reaffirmed its adherence to the church’s rules and procedures in addressing all issues.

The swift response to the Wuse II crisis demonstrates a resolute dedication to maintaining peace and fostering cooperation among members.
