The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has once again struck a blow against smugglers, intercepting 916 jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS)—commonly known as petrol—in a meticulously planned operation across Maiha, Mubi, Gurin, and Belel.

“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen of the press,” the National Coordinator began, his voice steady yet carrying the weight of responsibility.

The fuel, officials revealed, was being sneaked through backroads and unauthorized routes, destined for illegal markets that drain the nation’s economy and threaten its security.

Just a day earlier, on March 13, Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi had stood in Gembu, Taraba State, addressing the press about another seizure—1,149 jerrycans holding 34,470 liters of PMS.
