Crowd as APC holds rally in Kano, Tinubu pledges “to serve”

  • Credentials of Tinubu, Gawuna will win for APC – Ganduje

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has promised to “serve” Nigerians and ensure peace and harmony in all homes.

He made the promise yesterday during his rally in Kano, at the Sani Abacha Stadium, where the party’s flag was also presented to the party’s gubernatorial candidate for Kano State, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna and his running mate, Murtala Sule-Garo.

Daily Trust reports that the former Lagos State governor, upon sighting the massive crowd that thronged the road and filled the venue of the rally with people  dancing with fervour, declared to the crowd that “all I want to do is dance. I want music,” and subsequently joined in the dancing.

Afterwards, Tinubu told the crowd that he would keep his promises to Nigerians and that one of them is “to give your families peace and harmony. I will serve you (and) serve Nigeria.”

Speaking earlier, the governor of Kebbi State, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, who is also the chairman of the Progressives Governor’s Forum, allayed fears of supporters of the party on the reports making the rounds that some of the governors of the party have been meeting with the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar.

He said contrary to the reports, all the APC governors are standing by Tinubu as they have been doing even before he emerged as the presidential candidate.

He said all APC governors and past governors of the party are the leaders of the campaign for Tinubu to emerge president and this is evident by their presence in Kano.

On his part, Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, said Tinubu and Gawuna have the credentials of credibility, capacity, character and ability to lead Nigeria and Kano State to the next levels and these attributes, he noted, have placed them in a vantage position for victory.

The vice presidential candidate of the party, Kashim Shettima, who also told the crowd he has never seen a large crowd gathered at any political gathering in the country before, promised to ensure the completion and proper utilization of the Kano Economic City as well as other projects initiated by Ganduje for the betterment and the continued commercial viability of the state.
