Nigerian champions, Rivers United were held to a 2-2 draw by Congolese club, Diable Noirs in their CAF Confederation clash at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo on Sunday night.
Diable Noirs took the lead on 28 minutes with Rivers United defender, Emmanuel Ampiah slotting the ball into his own net.
The Congolese maintained their lead for the remaining part of the first half.
Rivers United equalised through Nyima Nwagua on 73rd minute.
The former Kano Pillars forward added the second four minutes later.
Deo Gracias Basinga levelled for the visitors nine minutes from time.
The hosts are now through to the quarter-finals with a game in hand.
