At least four people were killed and four others injured in a deadly armed attack by suspected bandits in Kafi village, Duguri District, Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The incident took place on February 20, around 6:25 p.m., when the attackers opened fire on residents, according to local sources.
Security forces responded quickly, engaging the bandits in a confrontation. Among the victims killed were Danjuma Talaka, a villager, and three other residents. The injured include Khadija Ismail (30), Adamu Yusha’u (18), Yusha’u Madaki (30), and Umar Barde (37), who sustained gunshot wounds.
Sources indicated that an unspecified number of bandits may have been neutralized during the exchange of fire, though their bodies were reportedly carried away by their accomplices.
Security operatives also recovered some rustled cattle during the operation.
The Bauchi State Police Command confirmed that the area has now been stabilized, with security forces conducting ongoing patrols and monitoring. Investigations into the attack are continuing to identify the perpetrators and prevent future incidents.
Residents of the area have expressed concerns over the persistent threat of banditry in the region, calling for enhanced security measures to protect rural communities.
