AFCON: We’ll finish Nigeria in second leg – Guinea-Bissau captain Jorge boasts

Captain of the Wild Dogs of Guinea-Bissau, Braima Nogueira Jorge has boasted that his side will wait for the Super Eagles of Nigeria and beat them for the second time in less than a week.

Nigeria suffered a 1-0 defeat at the Moshood Abiola Stadium Abuja on Friday being the first leg of the double-header 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game.

The captain pointed out that football is no respecter of big names or big countries, adding that they confront the Nigerians as equal rivals.

“Nigeria is blessed with talented players who are well known all over the world playing for top clubs.

“We scored a goal and defended well to frustrate Nigeria. It is a good win and we want to return home to complete the job, ” Jorge said.

The Wild Dogs, who now top the Group A of the qualifying series, will host the Super Eagles in the reverse fixture at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau on Monday.
