ADC Stakeholders in Adamawa Demand Immediate Audit Amid Allegations of Secret Membership Card Distribution

Hon. Umar Bello Jada, a prominent stakeholder and former National Assistant Organising Secretary of the ADC, has issued a strong rebuttal to what he describes as “misleading and deliberately distorted” claims from a disbanded and illegitimate group formerly known as the “transition committee” in Adamawa State.

In a detailed statement, Jada accused the group of factual inaccuracies, procedural misrepresentations, and politically motivated attempts to undermine the party’s internal democracy ahead of future electoral preparations.

Jada corrected key misrepresentations, noting that the operative committee is officially the Membership Mobilisation, Registration and Revalidation (MMRR), not the incorrectly cited “MRMR” highlighting what he called a lack of basic operational knowledge by the critics.

Addressing the procurement of membership cards, Jada revealed that seven governorship aspirants collectively funded the purchase of 50,000 cards valued at ₦50 million.

He clarified that an additional 50,000 cards were individually procured from the national secretariat in line with party guidelines to meet membership demand.

This process, he insisted, was transparent, known to relevant stakeholders, and conducted in good faith—dismissing attempts to target one aspirant as dishonest blackmail.

The core concern raised by Jada centers on the unauthorized actions of MMRR Chairman Ambassador Umarana Suleiman (also referred to as Umarana or Dokaji in related reports).

According to the statement, the chairman unilaterally took custody of the initial 50,000 cards and distributed them overnight without consulting the committee secretary, other members, or establishing any accountability mechanisms. This, Jada argued, constitutes a serious breach of trust and process.

Credible information, Jada stated, points to external influence from Sadiq Dasin, a former transition committee chairman, allegedly behind the unilateral distribution.

The motive, he claimed, was to restrict access to registration and suppress support for a leading female governorship aspirant, aligning with patterns of exclusion observed in multiple party units.

Jada rejected efforts to implicate national figures such as Senator David Mark and Babachir David Lawal, insisting there is no verifiable directive from the national leadership endorsing the circulated false claims.

Highlighting the broader threat to the party’s integrity, Jada emphasized that the real issues are secret and unilateral card distribution, weaponization of administrative control to favor select interests, and deliberate exclusion of legitimate supporters from registration—not the fabricated narratives around card purchases.

Defending Alh. Kashim Imam’s role in the additional card procurement, Jada described him as a man of high integrity, honesty, and proven capability in handling difficult assignments—qualities that made him suitable to lead such a critical committee.

He cautioned against maligning Imam’s reputation, stating that no “saint-minded” individual would do so.

In a firm position, the statement declared: “Blatant manipulation of ADC membership registration in Adamawa State must stop immediately.”

The demands include: A full audit of the distribution of the 50,000 membership cards; Immediate accountability from the MMRR Chairman; Restoration of transparent and inclusive registration access for all; Protection of all aspirants from structural discrimination.

Jada framed the situation as a fundamental struggle for the soul of internal democracy in the ADC Adamawa chapter, warning that the era of silent manipulation is over. “Facts will confront fiction,” he concluded, “and accountability will replace impunity.”

The rebuttal comes amid recent party developments, including the official commencement of the MMRR exercise across local government areas and prior disowning of certain figures like Ambassador Umarana over alleged insubordination and refusal to align with harmonized state structures.

Party leaders have described the current registration drive as a step toward grassroots consolidation ahead of the 2027 elections, despite earlier leadership harmonization challenges and factional disputes. Stakeholders continue to call for unity and transparency to strengthen the ADC in the state.
