‎The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is taking decisive steps to strengthen its position following a successful reconciliation between major factions led by Shehu Yohanna and Mallam Saidu Komsiri. This culminated in the swearing-in of new executive members to fill vacant positions.

‎The development represents a major milestone in resolving the long-standing leadership crisis that has plagued the party since its formation in the state, which previously resulted in multiple factional groups claiming control of the structure.

‎At the swearing-in ceremony, State Chairman Shehu Yohanna declared the crisis officially over, emphasizing that the harmonization process stemmed from a collective determination to build a united and formidable opposition capable of challenging Nigeria’s dominant political parties in the 2027 general elections.
‎
‎He noted that the state executive committee now comprises 44 members, as stipulated by the party’s statutes.
‎
‎Yohanna revealed that the reconciliation and harmonization of the state executive enjoyed full support from the ADC National Secretariat and the party’s national leader, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
‎
‎He described the occasion as a pivotal turning point for the party in Adamawa, grounded in dialogue, compromise, and internal democracy.
‎
‎Yohanna praised the commitment and enthusiasm shown by stakeholders from all factions, highlighting that the newly sworn-in executive members are experienced, credible, and widely trusted politicians.
‎
‎He expressed strong confidence that this high-caliber leadership would reposition the ADC as a major political force in the state.
‎
‎Yohanna issued a firm warning to the party’s transition committee, urging it to strictly adhere to its constitutional mandate.
‎
‎He cautioned that registering new members falls outside the committee’s remit and warned against any actions that could reignite internal discord.
‎
‎Former factional chairman Mallam Saidu Komsiri, now the Organising Secretary, described the inauguration of the new executive as the start of the ADC’s journey toward electoral success in 2027.
‎
‎He similarly warned the transition committee, led by Sadiq Dasin, against further actions that could undermine party unity.
‎
‎Komsiri thanked the national leadership, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and key stakeholders for facilitating the reconciliation process.
‎
‎He also acknowledged the vital roles played by party elders and the Adamawa State Executive Council in choosing dialogue over division.
‎
‎“This is not a reward but a call to service. We must rebuild confidence, mobilize support, and strengthen our party structures. Let us bury our differences and work collectively to build a strong, united ADC capable of forming government,” he said.
