A powerful coalition of seasoned All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwarts in Adamawa State has thrown its full weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in the 2027 general elections, signaling deepening party consolidation and grassroots momentum ahead of the polls.

The Adamawa Progressive Elders Council (APEC), an influential APC support group formed to foster reconciliation, internal harmony, and a stronger party structure, formally endorsed President Tinubu during a high-profile meeting held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Muna Hotel in Yola.
The council, established in line with recommendations from the APC Reconciliation Committee and adopted by the party’s leader in Adamawa State, comprises prominent figures from all 21 local government areas.
Attendees included former Secretaries to the Government of the Federation, ex-governors, serving and former ministers, former National and State Assembly members, former cabinet officials, current federal appointees, and other senior APC leaders.
The gathering was presided over by the council’s chairman and featured a morale-boosting goodwill message from the APC leader in Adamawa State, delivered through the Honourable Minister of Livestock Development. The message reinforced the group’s resolve to drive the party’s agenda forward.
In an eight-point communique signed by Vice Chairman Senator Abubakar Halilu Girei and Secretary Mrs. Olvadi Bema Madayi, the Adamawa Progressive Elders Council expressed profound gratitude to the state APC leadership for establishing and supporting the council, while reaffirming its unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress and its mandate.
The council unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027, praising his bold leadership, reform agenda, and dedication to national development.
It commended the president for appointing the Adamawa APC leader to a key strategic portfolio and for extending various federal appointments to indigenes of the state, resolving to organize a grand rally and reception in honour of all political appointees as a gesture of appreciation.
The council also reaffirmed its commitment to earlier resolutions, including the requirement that any member with electoral ambitions must resign to preserve the council’s neutrality and moral authority.
Furthermore, it endorsed the operational frameworks and activity timelines proposed by the steering committee, approved the creation of four standing committees—Finance and General Purpose chaired by Mrs. Olvadi Bema Madayi, Contact and Mobilization chaired by Chief Joel Hammanjoda Madaki, Conflict Resolution chaired by Prof. Tahir Mamman SAN, and Media and Publicity chaired by Ahmad Sajoh fnipr—and pledged to extend its activities to the local government and ward levels to strengthen grassroots engagement, facilitate early identification of disputes, and ensure swift conflict resolution.
The endorsement aligns with broader APC efforts across zones to rally support for Tinubu’s continued leadership, amid ongoing party unification drives in Adamawa following past internal challenges.
The council emphasized cascading reconciliation and mobilization efforts to build a formidable structure capable of delivering victory for President Tinubu and all APC candidates in 2027.
The communique concluded with thanks to contributors and participants for their dedication to the party’s ideals.
This move by APEC adds to the growing list of endorsements for Tinubu’s re-election from various APC-aligned groups and stakeholders nationwide, as the ruling party positions itself for a strong showing in the upcoming electoral cycle. Further activities, including the planned grand rally, are expected to galvanize support across Adamawa State in the months ahead.
