In a formal letter dated January 3, 2026, Hon. Bala Usman has voluntarily resigned from his position as Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Community Mobilization and Peaceful Coexistence in Adamawa State.
The resignation, addressed to His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, the Executive Governor of Adamawa State, takes effect from January 3, 2026. The letter was routed through the Secretary to the State Government and received by the relevant office on January 7, 2026, as indicated by official stamps.
In the resignation letter, Hon. Usman expressed deep gratitude to Governor Fintiri for the opportunity to serve, highlighting the confidence reposed in him and the chance to contribute to youth engagement, peaceful coexistence, community harmony, and the promotion of peace across the state.
He described his tenure as “enlightening and fulfilling,” noting the support, cooperation, and goodwill he received throughout his service.
”I hereby formally tender my voluntary resignation from my appointment as Special Assistant to His Excellency on Youth and Community Mobilization and Peaceful Coexistence, with effect from 3rd January, 2026,” the letter stated. “This decision has been taken after careful personal consideration and in good faith.”
Hon. Usman emphasized that his service under the governor’s visionary leadership had been both honorable and enriching, and he wished the administration continued success while assuring his highest esteem and respect.
The resignation comes amid ongoing political developments in Adamawa State and broader shifts within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) landscape in Nigeria. l
Governor Fintiri’s administration has focused on youth empowerment, community mobilization, and fostering peaceful coexistence in a diverse state with a history of communal harmony efforts.
No official reason beyond “personal consideration” was provided in the letter, and details on Hon. Usman’s future plans remain undisclosed. The move reflects a personal decision to step away from the role after what he described as a period of meaningful contribution to state initiatives.
Governor Fintiri’s office has not yet issued a public response to the resignation as of the time of this report.
Further updates are expected as the administration addresses the vacancy in this key youth and peace-focused portfolio.
