ACF Warns of Impending 2025 Floods, Urges Govt, Citizens to Prepare

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has urged the government and citizens to take proactive steps to mitigate the impact of the predicted 2025 seasonal floods.

According to the Nigerian Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA), 1,249 communities across 176 local government areas in 30 states are likely to be affected.

The ACF expressed concern that the floods may worsen existing socio-economic hardships, citing potential deaths, destruction of farmlands, property damage, and disruptions to livelihoods.

The forum called for intensified awareness and preparedness campaigns, stockpiling of essential supplies, repair of damaged infrastructure, and strict enforcement of planning laws and environmental regulations.
