Rejoinder: Alfred Bello’s Baseless Attack on Faleke is Driven by ‘Stomach Infrastructure’, Not Kogi’s Interest

I have watched with utter dismay the recent press release circulated by one Alfred Bello and a cohort of “stomach infrastructure” local champions, calling on His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to warn Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke.

I hereby use this medium to strongly appeal to President Tinubu and the general public to completely disregard this call. These individuals do not represent the genuine interests of Kogi State; they are merely representing their stomachs. This charade is not just born out of a hatred for the development of the state, but driven by men who are hell-bent on insulting highly respected figures as long as their personal pockets are lined.

Let me make this abundantly clear to set the record straight:

Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke’s infrastructural footprint across Kogi State is the primary reason the All Progressives Congress (APC) can boast of a tangible Federal presence in the state today. From facilitating massive road constructions to widespread solar installations, which have made our local community roads motorable and our streets illuminated, Faleke’s developmental impact is undeniable.

This attack is a clear case of overzealousness by political jobbers. The Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, is intensely focused on the governance of the state, specifically tackling security and driving infrastructural development across the state’s institutions and road networks. The Governor certainly does not have the time to engage with these hungry men to attack Faleke, a man who heavily mobilised his political structures to help secure the Governor’s victory in the last election.

The most annoying and tragic part of this display is the chief protagonist himself, Alfred Bello. This is a man for whom Faleke personally facilitated a Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) job for his daughter. For him to now come out and speak from the standpoint of his stomach rather than a progressive or humanitarian one marks him as a blatant ingrate.

My question to these impromptu “Kogi opinion makers” is this:
Are the federal appointments, the road constructions, the infrastructural developments, and the massive empowerment programmes facilitated by Faleke the things causing problems in the state? Or is it simply your empty stomachs that have made you lose your ability to reason well?

You may call anyone out for your daily bread, but let this serve as a clear warning: any further unwarranted attempts to attack our Arole will meet with stiff and uncompromising resistance from the progressive youths and citizens of Kogi State.
