Speaking on the Honest Bunch podcast, Portable revealed that he sold sachet water as a student and did not have anyone to sponsor his education.
He said he is a student of Kwara State Polytechnic, where he studied Business Administration, adding that he plans to return and complete his education.
The singer explained that although his father ensured that his siblings attended school, he was often regarded as the “olodo” (a slang term implying someone who is uneducated).
However, he claimed that he is now the one supporting his siblings and assisting his father, despite his siblings having formal education.
Portable argued that completing school is not the only route to success, noting that some people achieve financial success outside the classroom before later returning to complete their education.
His words …
“I no finish school, the time wey I dey go school, I sell pure water, I no see anybody to sponsor me. I will still finish school, I be student of Kwara Poly where I studied business administration. My papa send my brothers and sisters go school, na me be Olodo but now, na me dey feed all of them. Government no give any of them job. Me wey be the Olodo come dey feed and support my papa. It’s not must that before you finish school before you get it in life. You fit go outside and get it then come back and finish school…”
