Nigerian disc jockey DJ Cuppy has melted hearts with a video of her leading a prayer session at her sister, Temi Otedola’s, baby shower.

In a video making rounds online, the famous disc jockey was captured leading family and friends in a prayer session for the mum-to-be.

During the prayer, Cuppy quoted Psalm 127, which describes children as a reward from God, and prayed for God’s protection and blessings for the unborn child.

While wishing her sister a safe delivery, she declared that God’s plans for the baby are plans to prosper, not to harm.

It is not surprising to see Cuppy leading a prayer session, as she has been all about God for the past two years.

While advising single women, she taught them what the story of Ruth actually teaches. Cuppy emphasised that God gave Ruth a mandate and purpose, and that while she was fulfilling it, she found her Boaz.

Recall that following her failed engagement to a British boxer, Cuppy has turned to God as she and her younger sister, Temi Otedola, got baptised in May. The sisters shared clips from their baptism ceremony, which their mum attended.

Her mother, Nana Otedola, sent her a prayerful note, noting how God would give her a man who was running after Him. She expressed pride at how Cuppy is becoming her best self and united with God.

While lamenting her single status, Cuppy revealed that her single status had led her to write ‘Jesus’ in her emergency contact. According to her, whenever she was filling out forms, and they asked for an emergency contact, she wrote, “Jesus”.

She had also questioned God after receiving a proposal email from an admirer, wondering if he was the one. She revealed her plans to attend a Christian program in hopes of meeting him.

In 2024, while giving fans a little insight into her life, she spoke about how busy she was and how she operates her life based on purpose and intention. She added that God was leading her to greater heights, and she’s ready for all He has in store.

In an Instagram post, Cuppy had opened up on her spiritual journey, revealing how nervous she was about curating a performance with only Christian music, but God guided her through it. She, however, clarified that people shouldn’t misconstrue her as gospel music is lit.
