Pastors have been speaking against insecurity before most southerners even knew there was insecurity in this Nigeria. From Maitatsine riots in Bauchi (1980) to Reinhard Boonke riots in Kano in 1992, Yola riots in 1985, Kaduna (1982 and several times since then), Bulum-Ketu near Maiduguri (1982), Jimeta near Yola (1984), Gombe (1985), Boko Haram (since 2009) and several others, pastors have been speaking out and have gotten intiidated, maimed or killed in the process. Even the Vice Chairman of CAN in Borno was beheaded by Boko Haram. A lot of pastors spoke out over Chobok girls. If young people do not know all of these, they should read more. If you say pastors are not speaking out, you know very little.
