NAF Strikes Terrorist Hideout In Mandara Mountains

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out a coordinated air strike on suspected terrorist positions in Guduf, located in the Mandara Mountains along Nigeria’s northeastern border.

Naija News reports that the Air Force disclosed that the strike was conducted on April 27, 2026, as part of ongoing counter-terrorism operations under Operation Hadin Kai.

In a statement, the Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, said the operation followed credible intelligence supported by surveillance reports.

He noted that air assets were deployed after identifying multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs in the area.

Ejodame said the operation was executed with precision, targeting key insurgent infrastructure.

“NAF air assets executed a coordinated operation that identified multiple terrorist structures and logistics hubs actively supporting insurgent activities within the area,” he said.

According to him, the strike successfully destroyed critical facilities used by the insurgents, significantly weakening their operational capacity.

The Air Force emphasised that the mission adhered strictly to rules of engagement, with efforts made to protect civilians and the environment.

The Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, he added, applied precision targeting to neutralise hostile elements while minimising collateral damage.

The Mandara Mountains, which span parts of Adamawa and Borno states and extend into Cameroon, have long been identified as a stronghold for insurgent groups.

The NAF said the latest operation underscores its commitment to denying terrorists freedom of movement and strengthening ongoing security efforts across the region.

The military reiterated its resolve to sustain offensive operations aimed at degrading insurgent capabilities and safeguarding national security.
