The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has pledged to purchase party governorship nomination form for Governor Dauda Lawal to contest the Zamfara governorship in the 2027 general elections.

The nomination form is on the platform of the rulling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Mr Matawalle, who is the immediate past governor of Zamfara made the declaration on Saturday in Gusau while addressing a crowd of APC supporters.
“This is to indicate that myself, Gov. Dauda Lawal, and all former governors of the state are one family.
“We are all united in the APC for the best interest of Zamfara.
“We are all working together to bring unity, peace and stability to Zamfara,” he assured.
Mr Matawalle commended Gov. Lawal for executing various development projects across education, health, infrastructure and security sectors.
“I want to use this opportunity to call on the people of Zamfara to give Gov. Dauda Lawal a second term mandate so he can continue to bring more development to the state.
“All the former governors and party stakeholders have agreed to support Gov. Dauda Lawal,” he revealed.

The former governor called on APC supporters in the state to remain united and work towards promoting unity, peace and stability.
“You should all learn from us. As you can see, myself, other former governors Ahmad Sani-Yarima, Mahmud Shinkafi and Abdul’aziz Yari, we are all together in the APC with Gov. Dauda Lawal.
“Our focus is beyond politics but for the general development of the state.
“Therefore, all our supporters should work as a team to support government policies and programmes under Gov. Dauda Lawal’s administration.
“We should also support the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu to continue providing meaningful development to Nigerians,” Mr Matawalle pleaded.
