In a series of posts made on her TikTok page #valentinaifunanyayt on April 6, 2026, Valentina recounted how the experience dismantled long-held assumptions and deepened her respect for Muslim women.
Sharing the lessons alongside photos, she wrote, “Hijabis are just girls. Admittedly, I mostly saw the scarf, not the person wearing it, so I naively placed all women who wore the hijab under one stoic group but I couldn’t be more wrong. Hijabis are multifaceted and all have different personalities, interests and layers to them,”

She also described the warmth she received from Muslim women who discovered she was a Christian, covering her hair.
“Muslim women (especially hijabis) loved that I was a non-Muslim covering my hair. I was worried about inadvertently stepping on people’s toes or being offensive, but it was the opposite. They were so happy, asking about my experience and wishing me well,” she said.

Beyond the social dynamics, Valentina said the experience gave her a new spiritual perspective on the hijab itself.

“My personal political reservations aside, wearing the hijab is sacred and a form of protection from the divine. People (extremists) abuse it, but it was never meant to be used as a form of oppression, restriction or control,” she stated.
