Today, we celebrate not merely the passage of time, but the enduring legacy of a visionary movement—an umbrella body that has stood as a voice, a shield, and a beacon of hope for Kogi State students in tertiary institutions across the globe.
Founded on the 17th of April, 2001, at the historic Lokoja Stadium, NAKOSS was established with a clear and noble mandate: to defend the welfare of Kogi State students, promote educational advancement, bridge knowledge gaps, and safeguard the rights and dignity of our students wherever they may be found.
Over the past 25 years, through resilience, purposeful leadership, and a structured rotation of offices, the association has sustained unity, fairness, and inclusiveness. This solid foundation has enabled NAKOSS to remain steadfast, progressive, and relevant in the face of evolving challenges.
I pay special tribute to all past and present leaders whose sacrifices, vision, and unwavering commitment have kept the association on the path of growth and excellence. Indeed, it is the enduring values of unity, steadfastness, dedication, loyalty, honour, transparency, and an abiding call to duty that have brought us to this remarkable milestone. Kogi State students have consistently distinguished themselves as exemplary ambassadors wherever they are found.
From modest beginnings, the association has expanded its reach across multiple universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, schools of nursing and midwifery, and other institutions—positively impacting the lives of countless Kogi State students. The steady improvement in student support systems and educational exposure stands as a testament to our shared efforts and enduring vision.

Kogi State remains a land of immense promise and potential. I call on all stakeholders, particularly those in positions of authority, to continue supporting policies and initiatives that uplift our students and strengthen the educational foundation of our dear state.
On this historic occasion, I once again extend my heartfelt congratulations to every member—past and present. Your journey is our pride, and your achievements are our collective glory.
Long Live NAKOSS.
Long Live Kogi State.
Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Yours in service and solidarity,
