In a major crackdown on illicit weapons production, troops from Sector 2 of the Joint Task Force Operation WHIRL STROKE (OPWS) have uncovered and dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing facility during routine patrols in Agwatashi community, Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

The operation led to the arrest of one suspect who attempted to flee the scene upon sighting the security forces. Recovered items include six locally fabricated pistols, assorted manufacturing tools, an undisclosed amount of cash, and a mobile phone, all believed to be linked to the illegal operation.
Force Commander Major General Moses Gara commended the troops for their vigilance and professionalism, highlighting the success as a testament to effective intelligence gathering. “This discovery underscores the importance of sustained, intelligence-driven operations in combating insecurity,” Gara stated in a press release.
He further appealed to local residents to collaborate with security agencies by providing timely and credible information. “Public cooperation remains pivotal to achieving lasting peace, security, and economic stability in our communities,” Gara emphasized, urging citizens to report suspicious activities without fear.
